Health Hacks

We can spend an entire lifetime pursuing health & still not get to it all.

As a girl who’s been passionate about health most of my life, these are the biggest hacks I’ve found :

  1. Quality water & electrolytes

Tap water is filled with so much gunk it makes me sick just thinking about it. Chlorine, medication, heavy metals. Unless you’re drinking from a well, your water is probably contaminated. It might not kill you today, but you may as well kiss years of your life goodbye. Thank you Erin Brockovich.

I’m going to warn you in advance - it’s expensive to drink clean water. But it’s the best damn money you’ll ever spend.

This is my current favorite water system (Click Here For Link)

It tests the chemical input & output of your water which is so relieving to see how much junk get’s cleaned out.

Now, since you’re drinking such clean water - you have to add those natural minerals back in!

Chugging water that’s too clean will leave you dehydrated & suffering with headaches that can turn into migraines.

If we were drinking water straight from the earth, we’d be getting those natural minerals. But because our water has been so heavily dirtied, we’ve got to strip it down just to be able to drink it. Adding those minerals back in is actually life changing.

Finally, we must address showering in that dirty ass water:

Did you know you can breath in all that chlorine as it gets heated in your shower? Did you know it makes your blonde hair brassy & brittle? Yeah, no thank you. We’re definitely not showering in that.

2. Great Sleep Will Change Your Life

As some one who never slept in their early twenties, I am so grateful to say I am part of the great sleep club now.

I get it. Life is busy & there are a million reasons as to why you can’t get 8 hours of sleep. But honestly, I don’t care. You just have to do it & make space for it in your life. If you feel guilty to give yourself 8 hours of sleep (the bare minimum for men & women are actually suppose to get 9) then take note of how far out of balance you’ve become.

If hustle culture has you believing that you don’t deserve at least 8 hours of sleep then society owns your life & I am praying for you to wake up.

Of course, there are moments in life due to travel, illness, big projects that we cannot always get all the sleep we need.

But the scales must be tipped in the positive amount of sleep or your body will start to deteriorate - aka die faster & sooner.

I am trying to see my grandkids smiles so you can best be finding me sleeping in my cozy bed.

A few notes I’ve learned from how to get great sleep:

  1. Magnesium before bed. High quality will change your life.

  2. Wind down period. For me it’s journaling or reading.

  3. Total cool darkness. Temperature below 69 maybe even 6 7…& total darkness.

  4. Sleeping Intuitively. Because of my schedule I am often up late which means I sleep in later. I don’t let the world’s judgements about that affect my schedule. My schedule is intuitive & works for me. Be honest about what works for you.

  5. Allow yourself to wake up slowly. We weren’t meant to pop up out of bed & read stressful work emails. Take some deep breathes, contemplate your dreams, remain present with how your body feels. The mornings are some of the best times to receive intuitive or spiritual information

3. An Outlet

Having outlets changed the course of my life. As a child from a harder background, I had a lot of big emotions stored inside my body in my twenties. Finding healthy outlets for expression allowed for my world to soften. From writing, to running, to painting or baking. Having practices that brought me into my body & aligned my mind to stillness gave me my power back.

I hope that every one finds an endless amount of outlets for expressions. Outlets change & evolve over time, just like us.

Finding those moments that nurture our inner child, heal our nervous system & remind us of all the love we carry are worth their weight in gold & silver.
